Support AMOS Health and Hope through the Advent Offering!
Pullen’s partnership with AMOS Health and Hope in Nicaragua supports 23 rural communities and strengthens local leaders as they develop skills to improve their own health. Their data show improvements in health outcomes, with no recent maternal deaths in childbirth, and markedly reduced deaths of infants and children. We learn much by watching the way they work, as it is based on respect and empowerment of the community.
Traveling to Nicaragua is one way for the people of Pullen to develop connections with this work, but is not the only way. You can:
Dip your toe in by reading the fall newsletter, where you will meet Fatima, the health promoter in Malacatoya 1. Our travel team was honored to meet Fatima in October 2023, and we are considering establishing a long-term supportive connection with that community. https://www.amoshealth.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/62/2023/08/Fall-Newsletter-Online-version.pdf
Wade in a little deeper by visiting the website at amoshealth.org, where you can watch “Imagine a World” and learn how AMOS helps families and children experience better health and more hope. Watch interviews with health promoters, then scroll to the bottom of the page to sign up for regular email updates.
Follow AMOS Health and Hope on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
Jump all the way in and take a virtual trip to a rural community! AMOS created a 5-video series, through which you will meet community members and health leaders, and gain deeper understanding of their vital work. https://www.amoshealth.org/get-involved/virtual-mission-trip/
