Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Event with Environmental Voter Project: July 21 at 8:30 am in Finlator Hall
“It is a Christian obligation to vote, and more than that, it is the church’s responsibility to help get souls to the polls,” said Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the U.S. In response to this important call from Bishop Curry, Pullen’s Earth Ministry Team is hosting a GOTV postcarding event. We will write postcards from the Environmental Voter Project (EVP) to low-propensity voters who care about the environment. Cards from this session will go out to voters for the August 20 Florida Primary. The EVP uses statistical models to determine which voters to target, and they have data indicating that their approach is significantly successful in improving turnout.
Postcarding is easy. Before we start, you will have a short training session and receive a two-sentence script to follow for each postcard. Friends from the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh (UUFR) will join us for this event. We will start early, before the Summer Sunday session, and plan to complete 200 postcards. Please join us in this very important effort.
