Children's Sabbath: October 15 at 11:00 am during worship
The nationwide celebration of Children’s Sabbath came out of the work of the Children's Defense Fund, now in its 50th year. Children's Sabbath is a multi-faith observance that engages places of worship across the country in focusing prayers, worship and action on learning more about the urgent problems facing our nation’s children exploring sacred texts and teachings that call us to love and protect children, responding with outreach and advocacy, and—most importantly–inspiring new, year-round action to improve the lives of children. It is the goal to help amplify the voice of faith communities calling for justice.
At Pullen, on October 15th, this day we will highlight and affirm the gift and gifts of children in our midst. It is a day set aside to celebrate children as active participants in the life of the church. Children will serve as worship leaders throughout the service, including preaching with speaking, music and art work, reading Scripture and more.
