January 26, 2024
Dear Pullen Family:
It’s time to finish pledging our 2024 budget! Currently, we are about $157,000 short of where we would feel comfortable asking the congregation to give final approval to the budget. We believe we will have a surplus of about $31,000 to roll over from the 2023 budget, with your approval, and can cut $25,000 in capital reserves. That means we need approximately another $100,000 to reach our goal and celebrate at the Congregational Meeting on the budget on February 18.
Here are two options that will close the gap.
Option 1: Ten (10) people each make a $10,000 pledge. (Probably not going to happen!)
Option 2 would be all of the following:
a) 10 people who have not pledged, pledge $2,000.
b) 10 people who have already pledged, increase their pledge by $3,000.
c) 15 people who have already pledged, increase their pledge by $2,000.
d) 10 people who have already pledged, increase their pledge by $1,000.
e) 20 people who have already pledged, increase their pledge by $500.
The Finance Committee recommends that we pursue Option 2. Please consider making a pledge if you haven’t done so, or increase your pledge if you are able. Beginning January 29, a live counter showing our progress will be updated on our website every business day by 4 p.m.
If we succeed with Option 2 by Valentine’s Day, we will have a joyful Congregational Meeting and celebrate that our programs and ministries are thriving, and that our budget is thriving, as well.
We appreciate your commitment to Pullen’s new vision statement, which was approved on January 21. We now need courage, creativity, and financial resources to meet that vision. We move forward with the promise that with God, nothing is impossible. Thank you for supporting Pullen!
Lou Fabrizio, Chair
The Finance Committee
